I ordered the splint to use until I got my proper bite splint from the dentist. The grooved bite rail was quite easy to get shaped to suit yourself. Easier definitely than the "ruaton" ones I also ordered. It's not really objectionable, but after longer use, the rails can be made of too soft a material, so it's worth getting proper rails at the dentist.
